Marriott Rewards is one of the best hotel rewards programs as there are 18 affiliated brands with more than 3,800 participating properties. All members get free Wi-Fi and a fifth night free, while silver, gold, and platinum members get additional benefits, including other discounts and bonus points. It doesn’t matter if you spend $500 a night at the Ritz-Carlton or $50 at the Courtyard Marriott; you’ll earn points either way.
Following Marriott’s acquisition of Starwood Hotels, they added additional benefits, including personal concierge service and a new experiential rewards platform. It should also be noted that your Marriott Rewards points can be redeemed for flights, car rentals and other items
2. Starwood Preferred Guest

Starwood hotels and their Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) program set the standard for the best hotel rewards programs. Many of the benefits that began with SPG, including cash & points and SPG Moments, have been adopted by other hotel rewards programs. With Starwood, each hotel has a category rating; the higher the category, the more points are required to redeem a free night. Although some people like to save their issues, often using what you’ve accumulated at lower-cost places ends up being a great value.

Marriott that announced beginning in August 2018, Marriott Rewards, The Ritz-Carlton Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) will merge into one program that gives guests access to 6,500 hotels in 127 countries. Under the new program, guests can earn an average of 20% more points for every dollar spent.
When this merge occurs, your SPG points will be tripled and included in the new program. You will then be able to earn ten points for every dollar spent on all brands except Residence Inn, TownePlace Suites and Element, which will be five points for every dollar spent.
They are also rolling out new status levels with Silver, Gold Elite, Platinum and Platinum Premier, which require just 10, 25, 50 and 75 earning nights, respectively.
Claiming a free night is based on various factors, but there will be a list of trend-based, standard, and off-season free night awards for all hotels. This table will be released in 2019, so hotel rebates will be regularly priced for now.
4. IHG Rewards Club

What makes the IHG Rewards Club unique is the ability to redeem your points for flights on more than 200 airlines, rooms at non-IHG hotels, and vehicles at nearly every car rental agency. Of course, you can also use points at any of the almost 5,000 InterContinental Hotel Group properties. Another fun thing about the IHG rewards club is that you can bid your issues on their auction site for other items.
5. Hilton HHonors

Best Western Rewards points never expire, there are no blackout dates, and they even match other elite hotel rewards programs at no additional cost. To qualify for Diamond Select, you only need 50 nights, 40 qualifying stays, or 50,000 points, which is a fair amount less than other hotel rewards programs.

And if you compare our cost per vacation to what we pay for similar-sized accommodations of the same quality in the same area, we’ll come out ahead,” he adds. It’s just a big decision, one you need to think about to make sure it’s right for you. Those who buy a timeshare on impulse or from a high-pressure salesperson waving around a luxury gift as an enticement often end up regretting it.

The predictability of a timeshare vacation can be seen as positive or negative, depending on your perspective. Some people love that aspect of owning a timeshare. Falcone is one of them. “We have week nine in the calendar year. We really like to go at the same time of year, around our anniversary,” she says. “We like to have something to look forward to. We are all beach people who love Aruba. Also, I don’t have to worry about availability. We like the pool level and the ocean view. I don’t have to worry about getting what I want when I want it. I have it.”
On the other hand, some people get bored of vacationing in the same place year after year. If you are one of those people, you may be able to exchange your timeshare week for one in a different destination. Many, but not all, timeshare companies own properties worldwide. Trades aren’t a given, though, and they’re easier to catch if you have a highly desirable week and location. Lynch, who traded her timeshare in Kissimmee, Florida (which she bought on eBay) for ones in other states, cautions that planning is required. “The week we have is at the height of the summer season, so we’ve had to book our exchanges well in advance as the main resorts fill up quickly,” he says.
