Restaurants In Aspen

Don’t be intimidated by The Little Nell’s legendary reputation. All are treated kindly here, and while the iconic Element 47 fine-dining restaurant and bar is the perfect base for passionate adults, Ajax is the fun sibling always up for a party. This indoor/outdoor restaurant at the foot of the Silver Queen Gondola is always crowded regardless of the season, but it’s as much about the food and drink as the stage.

You can’t go wrong with the raw sea bass, the dreamy chicken liver pate or the salads, but we also love the tasty burger. Restaurants In Aspen  Be sure to stop by Ajax Tavern from 3 pm until Ski April. on weekends. – 6 pm during the winter months. Miss out on their famous Truffle Fry if you’re craving something to eat with your family or friends. Ajax Tavern Aspen Apres is the place to be and behold the ski scene! Ajax Tavern is also open during the summer: the outdoor deck’s large terraces make for excellent al fresco dining

2. Annette’s Bake Shop

Restaurants In Aspen

Aspen, CO 81611

That cosy hole in the wall (one of Curbed Ski’s best cross-country ski bakeries) on Hyman Avenue Mall is a local secret that even many locals don’t know about. However, those who know how to arrive early to fix the daily specials for breakfast or lunch (Thursday doughnuts are crazy). Sandwiches and daily specials (meatballs, porchetta or juicy brisket, pissaladière soups, salads…) Did we mention that all the bread is homemade and the bagels are the real deal? Annette and Serafino Docimo do everything themselves, except for a symbolic employee, and their passion shows. Cash only. If the weather is nice, there are a few small tables outside.

3. Aspen Kitchen – Restaurants In Aspen

Restaurants In Aspen

515 E Hopkins Ave

Aspen, CO 81611

One of Aspen’s newer restaurants is also the most popular. Located in downtown Aspen, Aspen Kitchen has a beautiful dining area and a hip vibe. Executive Chef Matt O’Neill prepares contemporary American cuisine emphasizing ski resorts; think stuffed duck eggs, elk tartare, and hearty dishes like Colorado strip bass. If the weather is nice, don’t miss the restaurant’s colossal patio with magnificent views, an outdoor bar and fire pits. Restaurants In Aspen

4. Cache Cache Restaurant

Restaurants In Aspen

205 S Mill St, #106

Aspen, CO 81611

For more than 25 years, Chris Lanter and Jodi Larner’s chic little French spot has remained one of Aspen’s finest dining establishments. It’s no small feat, and former chef de cuisine and current chef de cuisine Nathan King is killing it by maintaining his reputation. While rotisserie chicken gets a lot of press, there’s a lot to love about the intense seasonal menu (Lanter owns a small farm in Paonia and King is a dedicated gatherer). Do you want some wine? There are 5,000 bottles to choose from in the cellar. If the weather is nice, try to get a coveted spot on the patio. Restaurants In Aspen

5. Grey Lady – Restaurants In Aspen

Restaurants In Aspen

305 South Mill Street

Aspen, CO 81611

Related to the Aspen dining scene, Grey Lady is a New England-style seafood restaurant, which opened in December 2014 and is the sibling to the famous Manhattan bar/eatery of the same name. The cosy, 70-seat venue packs them in, thanks to stellar food and cocktails, a friendly and knowledgeable staff, and a subtly sexy and rustic-chic interior. Co-owner Ryan Chadwick’s uncle is a Maine lobster fisherman and ships his catch every day, piggybacking on oysters from a Damariscotta mariculture farm. In addition to a full bar, there are four signature large-batch libations on tap, including a Moscow Mule with House Escobar vodka made by Woody Creek Distillers of Basalt.

6. HOPS Culture – Restaurants In Aspen

Restaurants In Aspen

414 E Hyman Ave

Aspen, CO 81611

Since opening a few summers ago, HOPS Culture has been… jumping. Aspen’s long-awaited “craft beer-centric restaurant” on Hyman Ave. The pedestrian mall is the place to go when you’re craving a cold one. With 30 beers on tap and 200 a bottle (including limited releases and everything from duels to rye), 15 wines, and 12 craft spirits (Moscow Mules are the one-of-a-kind house and come in six different variations),,, it’s easy.

See why beer fans flock here. The food is simple and exclusive to the pub: salads, half rotisserie chicken, “melt,” and variations of mac and cheese. The ground-floor bar space is industrial, but the 11-bank beer garden on the central strip of the park-like mall has already established itself as the place to be on a summer’s day.

330 E Main St

Aspen, CO 81611

Since 1889, This men’s bar has been one of Aspen’s most prominent social venues (during Prohibition, it served “Aspen Crud,” a spiked shake that is still on the menu). It’s still a favourite with the local crowd and celebrities, but the scene is laid-back, and the decor is all about the Old West. Don’t miss the ornate carved rear bar, Chippendale Chinoiserie bar, patterned roof, and intricate crown moulding. We come for lunch to enjoy the best burger in town: a juicy, stacked beauty with all sides, the hearty salads (Caesar kale, barbecue chicken …) and main dishes like the famous spinach and artichoke sauce. They are other great ways to get stronger. . Order a straight whiskey and enjoy being a fly on the wall.

8. Jimmy’s An American Restaurant

205 S Mill St

Aspen, CO 81611

Owner/mixologist Jimmy Yeager is legendary in Aspen and beyond for his namesake restaurant/bar. Located in a posh location upstairs on Mill Street, Jimmy’s is a study in Aspen-cool. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer sweeping views of Ajax, and while there’s a separate dining area, bar seating is the most coveted (there’s a back patio, too). The bar’s program is aces, focusing on classic cocktails and boutique spirits, but Jimmy’s is as famous for its ice cream as anything – it makes its 300-pound blocks and turns them into signature BFICs. two inches.

(that’s Big Fucking Ice Cubes, for info) used in speciality drinks. It’s not a gimmick – a giant cube means less dilution of your drink, and the purified water keeps your cocktail odourless and odourless. The qualified staff are as charming as their boss. Fill your stomach with comforting classics like steak, meatloaf, bison burgers or grilled chicken – it’s going to belong. Restaurants In Aspen

While known for its top-notch cocktails and prime location in Aspen’s historic Wheeler Opera House, Justice Snow also has a varied brunch menu and Aspen’s best Bloody Mary bar. If we don’t indulge in the excellent Huevos Rancheros, you’ll find us kicking back with cocktails and late-night snacks after a show. Restaurants In Aspen

10. La Creperie Du Village – Restaurants In Aspen

400 E Hopkins Ave, Aspen, CO 81611

Aspen, CO 81611

Without a doubt the most adorable romantic restaurant in town. You’ll feel like you’re dining in a chalet in the French Alps, which makes sense since co-owner Raphael Derly is a former French skier. Service can be slow, but it gives you more time to relax with a glass of wine and admire the dark, weathered woodwork and warm decor (bistro glasses, fresh wildflowers on each table, firewood stacked in front of the little one. open kitchen).

Present in our most delicious cheese dishes in the land of snow, onion soup is a jug of existential happiness; the sweet and savoury pancakes are large, filling and tasty. Wait on a rainy day to try the fondue or spring for the cheeseboard. It’s hard to go wrong here unless it’s your pronunciation of Shokoladepalatschinke (chocolate pancake, filled with chocolate ganache, dulce de leche, strawberries and bananas, with whipped cream). Pick the few tables outside when the weather is nice.

11. Matsuhisa – Restaurants In Aspen

303 E Main St

Aspen, CO 81611

The third Colorado outpost (in Vail and Denver) of the sushi god Nobu Matsuhisa’s empire is set in one of the most humble places: a historic Victorian in hues of bluebells on the corner of Main and North Monarch. Be prepared to ditch a severe bank, whatever your appetite, but the experience will make you even more prosperous. Non-sushi appetizers include miso grilled black cod and lobster tacos; the Omakase menu is a godsend for Aspen, starting at $ 100 / person. We also like the patio to see and see. 12. Meat & Cheese Restaurant & Farm Shop

Restaurants In Aspen
Restaurants In Aspen

319 East Hopkins Avenue

Aspen, CO 81611

This long-awaited restaurant and farm shop from award-winning cheesemaker Wendy Mitchell of Basalt’s Avalanche Cheese Company has become a local’s favourite for lunch or dinner since opening in October 2014 (it’s also in our most delicious cheese dishes in ski country. It’s more than just the great price point: the food is delicious. The signature “boards” of charcuterie (including Avalanche’s goat and pork salumi), cheese, rotisserie chicken, and porchetta are delicious, ditto the locally-sourced “world farmhouse” cuisine from chef David Wang and crew. Don’t miss Hooch, a downstairs bar from the same team serving tapas, cocktails, and desserts.

13. New York Pizza – Restaurants In Aspen

409 E Hyman Ave

Aspen, CO 81611

Ski bums and late-night revellers alike would surely perish without this Aspen institution. What’s not to love about delicious, honkin’ big slices served till 2:30 am? For a “cheap” meal, order up a pie and a pitcher, but things get hopping when the bars close. You may wait in line for 20 minutes or more, but that hot, cheesy, sobering slice or four is so worth it (bonus: this stuff tastes just as great sober, which is the ultimate litmus test).

14. Peach’s Corner Cafe – Restaurants In Aspen

121 S Galena St

Aspen, CO 81611

If you’re looking for a casual breakfast spot with some seating outside, look no further than Peaches. Locals line up for the breakfast and lunch joint’s signature dish: the Open Face. Made with toasted bread, poached eggs, peach butter, bacon, tomatoes, arugula, and shaved parmesan, it’s a filling start to the day without being a significant gut bomb. Note that the sunny patio seating fills up quickly, so get there early if you’re desperate to enjoy the Aspen sunshine.

15. Pyramid Bistro – Restaurants In Aspen

Restaurants In Aspen

221 E Main St

Aspen, CO 81611

This “nutritarian” restaurant might be so good you’ll forget that you’re not eating meat. Vegetarians and those looking for gluten-free options will be pleased with the diverse menu that’s heavy on options and aims to promote healthy, delicious cuisine. Open for dinner or lunch; there are also a few fish and chicken options for those who opt for heartier fare

16. So at the Aspen Art Museum

Restaurants In Aspen
Restaurants In Aspen

637 East Hyman Ave

Aspen, CO 81611

While Aspen’s jaw-dropping new art museum has raised some eyebrows, there’s no debate about the spectacular and straightforward coffee on its ceiling. Executive Chef, Julia Domingos and her husband / GM Allen have created charming and inspiring lunch menus from 11: 30-2: 30 that changes every Tuesday. Espresso has already gained a cult following in a city where lousy coffee is everywhere, but the food also deserves the endorsement.

There’s panini, salads, a kid’s plate, house cakes, beer, wine by the glass … all in an ultra-modern white space accented by glass beams, concrete, and blond cross-hatched ceilings. The courtyard and nearly 360-degree views of downtown Aspen and Ajax don’t hurt, but what’s remarkable is the lack of crowds and the resulting serenity.

17. Trecento Quindici Decano

Located in St. Regis, this Italian restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily in a chic but child-friendly environment. From handmade pasta to delicious focaccia bread, Trecento offers a premium option that will appeal to any family member. Don’t miss the Tuscan Breakfast Bowl for breakfast, which includes tomatoes, mozzarella, croutons, basil, arugula, and poached eggs.

18. White House Tavern – Restaurants In Aspen

Restaurants In Aspen
Restaurants In Aspen

302 Hopkins

Aspen, CO

This ever-leaping little Victorian from East Hopkins has made a name for himself with the stacked chicken sandwich, burgers and monstrous salads. The menu, although succinct, covers all the basics:

  • Kale salad.
  • “Macho salad” (roast chicken, mixed greens, avocado, dates, goat cheese, toasted almonds, fresh corn).
  • Heavenly queso dip (more like cheese).

Super creamy chilli), hand-cut fries and even creamed corn. The wine and cocktail list have excellent offerings, and the blond wood-panelled walls and sleek ornaments have made this rustic-mod space a nice place to hang for a casual lunch or dinner. Mark a table outside for a view of Aspen Mountain. It is the place we come back to every time we are in town.
