12 Things to Do in West Palm Beach and Top Rated Attractions – 2022

West Palm Beach anchors Palm Beach County in Florida. It is a flourishing urban center with cultural treasures, excellent restaurants, a true “Downtown”. Where people congregate to enjoy one-of-a-kind shopping, dining, and entertainment options; And, let’s not forget, 47 miles from some of the best beaches in the United States.

Just across Lake Worth, named after the same 19th-century general as Fort Worth, Texas, is the tiny island of Palm Beach, one of the wealthiest cities on Earth. This community was built by industrialist Henry Flagler in the early 1900s. When others saw a desolate and uninhabited island he saw a perfect heaven for his rich and famous friends. (And a great way to charge them to go there on their rail.)

Scattered on the outskirts of West Palm are several colorful towns. Most close to the beach, and some with revived urban centers of their own, as well as artists and artisans pushing artistic boundaries, many displaying their works on the sides of the streets, Buildings.

When you arrive in West Palm Beach, it won’t take you long to see that you’ll run out of time before you run out of things to do.

At Panther Ridge Conservation Center, some big cats roam freely in significant fenced natural habitats that replicate the African soil. Others are in cages, usually alone. Many times the size of zoo cages, in habitats that mirror their native lands. (along with small “pools” and toys).

Panther Ridge is the brainchild of Judy Berens, who still runs it. In the 1990s, neighbors from rural West Palm Beach began bringing their big cats that they no longer wanted or couldn’t care. Because they knew she already had an ocelot (“it bites a lot,” he jokes) as a home. Pet. Soon, he had several large cats. So he began searching for land. One winter a few years ago, officials at the Florida Power & Light facility just north of West Palm Beach began to realize that manatees, Florida’s beloved “sea cows,” were congregating around the stream. Hot from the facility and the idea for Manatee Lagoon was born.

Now, this may be the best place in Florida to see these gentle 1,500-2,000 pound creatures. There are currently about 6,300 manatees in the state, more than anywhere else in the world. Manatee Love People If they see you on the dock. They will swim right up to you, and they have been known to roll around in the water so that people can pat them on the stomach.
